Our Commitment to the Local Community

Repairs and adjustments to benefit local charities

I-Topian Optical as a business is committed to continually expand our involvement in charitable endeavors with a promise to make our community a better place to live. For example, we donate all monies collected for repairs and adjustments to local charities. We ask a donation of $10.00+ depending on the extent of the work involved and the parts required. In 2013 alone, we were able to grant two $5,000 wishes for Make A Wish of Southern Florida while also actively volunteering for the organization as both Wish Grantors and on the Presidents Councils of both Lee and Collier Counties. We not only support local charities but make sure we are involved in various local charities.

Our charity support continues major involvement with the following organizations:

Our mission: wishes are more than just a nice thing

A wish experience can be a game-changer for a child with a life-threatening medical condition.

This one belief guides us in everything we do at Make-A-Wish®. It inspires us to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids we serve. It compels us to be creative in exceeding the expectations of every wish kid. It drives us to make our donated resources go as far as possible.

Most of all, it’s the founding principle of our vision to grant the wish of every eligible child.

Wishes are more than just a nice thing. And they are far more than gifts, or singular events in time. Wishes impact everyone involved – wish kids, volunteers, donors, sponsors, medical professionals and communities. The impact varies. For wish kids, just the act of making their wish come true can give them the courage to comply with their medical treatments. Parents might finally feel like they can be optimistic. And still others might realize all they have to offer the world through volunteer work or philanthropy.

Whatever the odds, whatever the obstacles … wishes find a way to make the world better.

We grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

Angel Flight™ Southeast, Inc. is a non-profit volunteer pilot organization involved in “public benefit flying.” We provide a variety of services to the community, but mostly we arrange free air transportation by private aircraft to distant medical facilities when commercial service is not available, impractical or simply not affordable.

Wee Waggin Canine Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit, no-kill rescue organization run by Kelly and Craig Chasnov of I-Topian Optical. We rescue dogs who are in danger of being euthanized in over-crowded shelters, turned in to rescue by owners who can no longer care for them and strays who are found abandoned and find loving new homes for them. We are funded entirely by donations. In order to get the dogs used to being around people and other animals; it is common to see one of our rescue pups working at the store while looking for a new forever home. Many of our clients have adopted amazing animals from us and ended up in they end up telling us that the dog rescued them! Dogs are always welcome at I-Topian Optical and please stop in to see the latest rescue dog looking for the perfect forever home.

The ladies who live at the facility are very special young ladies and in March, 2014 all of them where invited to come to I-Topian Optical for eye exams by Dr. Angela Kaplan and new Ray Ban sunglasses with clear prescription glasses for any in need as well. The ladies where then treated to a wonderful meal at CRU Restaurant with Harold (chef/owner) personally coming in to cook a tasting for the ladies. They left with flowers and wonderful leftovers to enjoy along with care packages from Saks 5th Avenue, Ulta and Bed Bath and Beyond. It was a perfect day with 6 young ladies who brought along 3 adorable little kids for lunch and new glasses.

MISSION

To keep teen mothers from foster care, human trafficking and other traumas together with their children in a safe, nurturing home. Through our Mentored Living Program, residents are provided with education, life skills, parenting classes, physical and mental health care allowing them to become productive members of our community.

OUR VISION

To end the repetitive cycle of foster care and generational poverty that afflicts teen mothers and their children.

FOCUS

Our Mother’s Home is a large home with facilities adequate for housing eight teen mothers and their babies. Our Home is unique in many ways, one being that we help teenage mothers from age thirteen to age eighteen, as long as they stay in school or have a job.

Any pregnant or post-partum Florida teen can come to our home to live after the first trimester of pregnancy or with her child, if the baby has already been born.

As a privatized 501(c)3 organization, Our Mother’s Home raises 50 – 60% of its own funding, to provide teen moms a supporting environment to stay with their children, learn life skills, and finish their education. We depend heavily on our dedicated volunteers, contributions of funds, commodities and services. Our success rate has generated great interest among those interested in decreasing the rate of children in foster care.

Vision: Children around the world realize their potential, creating a better future for themselves, their countries, and the global community.

Mission: To help children around the world reach their potential through professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships with measurable impact.

SailFuture ignites and sustains transformational change in high-risk youth by developing trust and long-term personal relationships that cater to each youth’s individual needs.
